Kids can write their own Fractured Fairytale at the Website!

Click to visit the Fracture Fairy Tale site

This adorable site is simple to use and geared for elementary school children (but we enjoyed it as well!).

Fractured Fairy Tales are common fairy tales with a change to the character, setting, or other facts. The site give an example of a fractured fairytale (several are provided, refresh if you don't like the current selection) and then after the child has read through the first one, she is given the opportunity to write her own.

Writing is done with short sentences and one complete paragraph at the end. The downfall to the site is you can't read your own fractured tale online, it's sent directly to your connected printer. Even if your child doesn't write her own, Fractured Fairytales are a great way to learn point of view and assist in learning empathy.
